2010 KA Race

When we set about designing this "pro level" racing sail we started by generating a list of attributes that we would not compromise under any circumstance.

- Top end speed.
- Low end power.
- Draft stability.
- Acceleration.
- Handling and control.

All the boxes have been ticked!

We proudly introduce the 2010 KaRace.

Compared to the Koncept, KaRace has a lower aspect, higher tension foil with its emphasis on upwind performance and draft stability when overpowered.

With the full width luff, 8 carbon composite battens and 5 cams its stability is something to behold. 3 "oversized" cams provide effortless rotation. A finer entry and the lower aspect contribute to the amazing upwind ability and blistering acceleration.

The draft is locked forward and low. Combined with the large stepped clew we deliver a light, controllable and ergonomic rig.

High tech materials are in abundance with aramid Xply used in all the high load areas.

Abrasion resistance takes a major priority with a new thermoformed mast pad and PVC mouldings protecting vulnerable areas.

Construction & Features

5 Mil Coloured Xply Head and foot panels.
5 and 7 Mil Monofilm centre panels.
Wide Luff sleeve. Heavy duty 250 Luff sleeve material and 4mil Xply.
Aramid leech reinforcement prevents distortion.
Multiple layer clew reinforcement.
Carbon/composite tube battens.
5 roller cams, 3 oversized for smooth rotation.
Stepped clew.
Thermoformed mast pad.
Moulded batten end protectors.
Extruded PVC foot and lower seam protection.
Boom height indicators.
Moulding above boom slot for easy mast insertion.
Stainless Steel triple downhaul pulley.

NOTE:
KA Sails are designed for use with the specified KA Mast.
The correct mast will ensure optimum sail shape.
Other brand masts are suitable if they have the correct IMCS
and an IMCS bend curve percentage in the range of 15-16%.
